HSS/SS Simpson Stud Shoes are designed specifically to reinforce wall studs that have been notched for plumbing work and other modifications. Made from 16 gauge steel with a galvanized finish, these stud shoes are easily installed and do provide additional tension load capacity and strength. The Simpson SS3 Double 2x Stud Shoe requires the use of 12 – 10d x 3″ Nails for installation to be load-rated.
